SPEAKERS: PABLO BAYONA

Pablo Bayona has been serving the Lord and preaching for the past 34 years. Born and raised in Brroklyn, NYC of Puerto Rican Parents, he had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ at an early age while he was participating in a boxing competition in Brooklyn. His dream was to become a professional Boxer, however, God had a different plan for him.

Pablo has spoken at gatherings around the world associated with Charismatic Renewal and the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church. In the words of Rev. Msgr. Richard J. Arnhols: “He is a dedicated, committed Catholic, who is in fidelity with the teachings of our Faith. He has fulfilled the Archdiocesan requirements ... and I heartily endorse his ministry and commend him to you."

Pablo is currently the Director of La Casa del Padre (House of the Father) Ministry which is an approved entity of the Archdiocese of Newark. It is associated with its Hispanic Apostolate under the supervisions of the Vicariate for Pastoral Life. Pablo has directed many programs of spiritual renewals for individuals and for couples that have enabled countless participants to grow in their faith and in their committment to the Catholic Church.

“I always have in my heart that people need to be lifted up. We’re going through so many things,” Bayona said in an interview before the conference. “People are going through depression. People are going through high anxieties. People are going through economic problems. It’s good to give them a message of hope and a message of faith. The Bible is full of those types of messages. All we have to do is bring it to life in the hearts of the people, through the help of the Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit.” - Pablo Bayona

SPEAKERS: FR. MARIO SALVADORI

Born in 1960 in Toronto from Italian immigrant parents (love tripe, polenta and cannolis). Grew up in “little Italy” at St. Clair and Caledonia (toucha my car, I breaka you face). I am an only child (they broke the mold). Dad died when I was 10 and Mom raised me (no silver spoon). My home parish is St. Clare on St. Clair (took a while to figure that out). I have an undergraduate degree in business systems from Ryerson, an MBA in Finance from York and a Masters in Divinity from UFT (yes, three University degrees). I volunteered for 6 years in the pro-life movement as a counselor (all children have a right to be born). I worked for 12 years; 6 years as a computer programmer and 6 years as a financial analyst (Mom has spent most of those earnings). I entered St. Augustine’s Seminary in 1993 and I was ordained in 1998 (big, radical, shocking change from the business world). St. Joseph the Worker is my 5th parish (many renovations needed). My mom will be 89 years of age in May/2013 and she lives with me in the rectory (thank God for Filipino care-givers).
