STREET PATROL FAQ
What is it?
Men, women, and youth (13 years of age and up) walking the streets of downtown Toronto, offering food and friendship to those in need.
When is it?
Tuesday evenings, from the second week of July to the last week of August.
We begin at 4:00 PM in the Church basement and arrive back to the Church between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM.
What are the age limits?
We enthusiastically welcome all adults and youth.
However, some restrictions do apply to those under thirteen years of age. If a youth under thirteen wishes to participate, we request that an adult, preferably a parent, be with that youth at all times during the Patrol.
NOTE: Participants under 18 years of age are required to submit a Permission Form signed by their parents prior to participating. Permission Forms are available by the Sign Up Sheet.
How do we get to Queen Station?
We will carpool to Downsview Station and will take the TTC to go downtown. We will get off at "Queen Station" on the Yonge Line. Each participant is expected to bring their own subway fare.
What should I wear?
A good pair of walking shoes is VERY IMPORTANT. Keep in mind that we will be walking for over two hours. Comfortable clothing is also a must. A knapsack to put your food in is a very good idea. It will leave your arms free, and it's easier to walk when your back is carrying most of the weight.
What if it's raining?
We sometimes get sprinkled upon, and from time to time a storm passes through, but Street Patrol has NEVER been cancelled. However, if you have any doubts about whether or not the Patrol will proceed, please phone the Parish Office at (905) 660-1253.
How do I sign up?
Just come to the Church basement on Tuesdays at 4:00 PM. Call the Church in advance (905) 660-1253 and inform us that you will be joining us.
More Questions?

Street Patrol is a service for the homeless and YOU! This is an experience that will open your eyes to the reality around you. Do not hand out food with your eyes and heart closed. You may not be able to connect with everyone you meet, but if you can connect with only one homeless person, that will make the patrol worth all your effort. It is almost guaranteed that at least one person's spirit will make an impact on you during the Patrol, if you are open to the experience. Then, when you are back in your own home, pray for that person, and reflect on the events of the night. Most importantly, do all of this with faith, a smile, and with lots of FUN!
