HOW WE LIVE

Living Like Jesus
Christians are invited to become “perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Mt 5:48).
Because we are to be “dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Rom 6:11)
we must become “imitators of God as beloved children” (Eph 5:1-2).
The Spirit teaches believers to pray to the Father (Gal 4:6)
and to bring forth “the fruit of the Spirit” (Gal 5:22-23).

Nine Truths About Christ and Humanity (Catechism 1701-1709)

1. Only in Christ (“the image of the invisible God“) can we understand ourselves
2. When we are in communion with others, we mirror the communion of the Trinity.
3. From conception, every human person is destined for God, for eternal life.
4. Our Human reason allows us to intuit the Creator.
5. Because our soul has the power of intellect and free will, we have freedom.
6. God gives us a conscience “to do what is good and to avoid what is evil.”
7. Our nature is wounded by sin, inclined to evil, and subject to error.
8. Jesus delivers us from the Evil One and restores what sin damaged.
9. By believing in Christ, a person becomes a child of God, capable of following Christ and becoming perfect.

(Deuteronomy 5:6-21)
You are blessed when…
…you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you, there is more of God and his rule….you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

…you’re content with just who you are–no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

…you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

…you care. At the moment of being “carefull,’ you find yourselves cared for.

…you get your inside world–your mind and heart–put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

…you can work for peace. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

…your commitment to Me provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.
(Matthew 5:3-10)
